I’m writing out this post curled up on the couch of our own lovely DisdainJane down in the south east Florida coastline. It’s 86 degrees and the skies are a clear gorgeous blue. Bob Marley plays quietly out of my laptop speakers, singing songs of peace and freedom from worry.
Leave it to me to take a vacation to Florida at the peak of hurricane season, but we seem to have truly lucked out. Hanna went north and landed a couple days before our flight came in and now Ike seems to be headed underneath us, possibly hitting the Keys and Cuba. Sure the next few days will be pretty rainy, but I think we’ve really lucked out so far. With eight days to go on this trip, there’s still plenty of time for working on my tan and soaking up some beautiful Florida beaches.
